1. Local-First Architecture
Warranties Vault is built as a local-first application. This means that all receipts, invoices, warranty documents, product photos, prices, notes, and reminders are stored exclusively on your individual iOS device. They never leave your device unless you explicitly decide to share or export them.
As the developer, I do not receive, collect, store, or have access to any of your documents, purchase data, notes, or personal information.
2. Device Permissions Used
To perform its functions natively, the app requests standard iOS permissions when necessary:
- Camera Access: Used solely to capture physical receipts using the built-in document scanner.
- Photo Library / Files: Used only when you manually choose to import existing receipt photos, product images, or PDF invoices.
- Face ID / Touch ID: Optional biometric security used exclusively to restrict access to the app on your physical device.
- Notifications: Used only to trigger local alerts on your device for upcoming warranty or return deadlines. No external servers are involved in scheduling notifications.
3. Data Sharing & Tracking
We respect your digital footprint:
- No Tracking: The application does not track your online activities across websites or other third-party apps.
- No SDKs: There are no advertising SDKs, third-party analytics trackers, or social sign-ins compiled in the application code.
- Third-Party Sharing: Zero data is shared with third parties. All processing is processed completely offline on your silicon.
4. App Store Declarations
In accordance with Apple Store review guidelines, the declared specifications for Warranties Vault v1 are:
- Tracking: No
- Data Collected by Developer: None
- Third-party Data Sharing: None
5. Data Retention & Backups
Since all data is saved in the local app container, you maintain absolute control over retention:
You can delete individual purchases or attachments, purge all database files directly from the app's settings screen, or completely remove the application from your device to erase all structural archives. Backups are created only if you trigger an active ZIP export or depend on standard iCloud device backups.
