iPhone · iPad · Mac — one app

Improve every day, become who you were meant to be.

Evolve is a habit and goal tracker that turns a day into a streak, a streak into a year, and a year into a life you can look at all at once. It works offline, and the AI coach has actually read your data.

No ads. No tracking. Works offline.

Week

Seven days you can read at a glance.

The Week view isn’t a list. It’s a seven-axis radar, one spoke per day, and the shape tells you where you give way — the Tuesday that holds, the Sunday that doesn’t. A habit tracker you read at a glance instead of scrolling.

Month

A month that colors itself in.

Every day takes the colour of how it actually went: red at zero, green at a hundred per cent, everything else in between. Not decoration — it is the same function that draws the calendar inside the app, so the tracker and the picture never disagree.

Year

Three hundred and sixty-five days, one picture.

Twelve months, one bar per day. From this far back the individual days stop mattering and the seasons appear: the month you let go, the month you came back. A year of habit tracking without a single number.

Life

And then, all of it.

One dot for every month of eighty-five years. The lived ones are behind you, the current one is lit, the rest are waiting. This is the view that puts a habit back in proportion, and the reason Evolve tracks goals and not only streaks.

AI Coach

A coach that has read your data.

Not a general-purpose chatbot. The coach can see your habits, your streaks and your goals, and starts from there — in your language, inside the app.

  • With an account it is included in Evolve Pro: no API key, nothing to set up.
  • Private mode keeps no account, so there the coach runs on your own OpenRouter key.
  • You decide what it can see. Habits and goals are two separate switches, and you can turn both off.

One app

The same day, every screen.

  • iPhone

The whole habit tracker in your pocket: your habits for the day, all four calendar views, the coach and your statistics.

  • iPad

The same habit and goal tracker with room to breathe — the year and the life grid finally get the width they deserve.

  • Mac

A native Mac app with a sidebar and keyboard shortcuts, built for the long sessions you spend in Statistics.

Evolve at a glance

Platforms
Evolve is a habit and goal tracker for iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is one universal app, so downloading it once covers every Apple device signed in with the same Apple Account. There is no Android or Windows version.
Price
Evolve is free to download, and the free tier tracks habits and goals with a cap on how many of each you can keep. Evolve Pro is an auto-renewing subscription — €4.99 a month or €49.99 a year — that removes those caps.
Offline
Evolve works offline in both of its modes. Habits, the calendar, streaks and statistics live on the device and need no connection. Only the AI coach requires the internet.
Your data
Evolve has two modes. Private mode keeps no account at all and stores everything in a SQLCipher-encrypted database on the device. Account mode signs you in with Apple or Google and syncs through Supabase. iCloud sync is optional and is not behind Pro.
AI coach
The coach reads only the habits and goals you allow it to see. With an account it runs on Evolve Pro, over Google’s free AI Studio tier, so Google may retain the text and use it to improve its services, including training. In Private mode it runs on your own OpenRouter key.
Languages
Evolve and this site are available in Italian, English, Spanish, German and Arabic.
You don’t need more motivation. You need to see what you’re doing.

Evolve doesn’t lecture you and doesn’t send guilt notifications. It shows you your own data honestly and lets consistency make the argument.

Who makes it

Simone Mattioli

Independent developer

Evolve is written by Simone Mattioli, an independent developer. He built the app and this site, and the app’s source lives in the open at github.com/simo-hue/mattioli.OS. There is no company behind it: one person writes the code and decides what ships, which is why there are no ads and no tracking in it.

Frequently asked questions

What is Evolve?

Evolve is a habit tracker and goal tracker for iPhone, iPad and Mac. You define the habits you want to keep and the goals you are working towards, tick them off day by day, and the app draws the result back at four zoom levels: a week, a month, a year, and a whole life month by month. It also includes an AI coach that can read your own habits and streaks.

Which devices does Evolve run on?

iPhone, iPad and Mac — one universal app. Download it once and it is on every Apple device signed in with the same Apple Account, with no separate purchase per device. Evolve Pro, if you want it, is an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription that applies across all of them. There is currently no Android or Windows version.

Does Evolve work offline?

Yes, in both of its modes. Habits, the calendar, streaks and statistics are stored on the device, so you can log a day on a plane or in a tunnel. With an account, changes sync the next time you are online; in Private mode there is nothing to sync, because nothing leaves the device. Only the AI coach needs a connection.

What does Evolve cost?

The app is free to download, and the free tier is a working habit tracker: habits, calendar, streaks and statistics, with a cap on how many habits and goals you can keep. Evolve Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or annual, that removes those caps and adds the AI coach with no setup and the advanced statistics. iCloud sync is not behind Pro: it is optional, free, and runs through your own Apple account.

Where does my data go?

That depends on the mode you choose. Private mode keeps no account at all: everything lives in a SQLCipher-encrypted database on the device and nothing is sent anywhere. If you sign in with Apple or Google instead, your data syncs through Supabase, which hosts the authentication, the database and the file storage on Evolve’s behalf. iCloud sync is a separate option and runs through your own Apple account. You can export or delete everything from inside the app at any time, and the privacy policy names every recipient.

How does the AI coach work?

The coach only receives what you choose to share: habits and goals are two separate switches in settings, and you can turn both off. With an account it is included in Evolve Pro with no setup, and the request runs on Google’s free AI Studio tier, so Google may retain the text for a limited period and use it to improve its services, including training. Private mode keeps no account, so there the coach runs on your own OpenRouter key instead. The privacy policy sets out exactly who receives what.

How is Evolve different from a paper habit journal or a to-do app?

A paper journal records the day and then closes. A to-do app clears the item and forgets it. Evolve keeps every day and shows it back at four zoom levels, so consistency becomes something you can see rather than something you have to remember. It tracks habits you repeat and goals you are moving towards, not tasks you finish once, and the statistics are built on the whole history rather than on this week.

Who makes Evolve?

Evolve is made by Simone Mattioli, an independent developer. He wrote the app and this site, and the app’s source lives in the open at github.com/simo-hue/mattioli.OS. There is no company behind it, no advertising in it and no analytics tracking you across the web.
